Job Summary
We are looking for an Amada EML Punch/Laser Machine Operator to join our production team in Fontana, CA. The role reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for operating various machinery throughout the production floor, including a Press Brake, Punch Press, and CNC Laser, to create parts for our manufacturing projects.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot the Amada EML 2515 AJ punch/laser combination machine.
- Execute frequent job changeovers efficiently in a high‑mix, medium‑to‑high volume production environment.
- Load and verify CNC programs; adjust offsets, tooling, and parameters as required.
- Perform tooling setups, tool changes, station setups, and sheet loading/unloading.
- Monitor production runs to meet quality, cycle time, and output expectations.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to drawings and tolerances.
- Accurately complete job tracking documentation, including travelers, sign‑offs, and operation verification.
- Verify correct job numbers, revisions, quantities, and operation completion before sign‑off.
- Maintain accurate production counts, scrap reporting, and job status updates.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and preventative checks.
- Troubleshoot and correct basic machine, tooling, and quality issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and standard work instructions.
- Collaborate with programming, quality, and production teams to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and maximize uptime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction and process optimization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5–10 years of experience operating CNC turret punch and/or punch‑laser combination machines.
- Direct experience with Amada EML series machines, especially the EML 2515 AJ.
- Strong understanding of CNC machine operation, tooling, and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Basic troubleshooting skills related to machine operation and part quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Amada controls and CNC programming concepts.
- Experience working in high‑mix, medium‑to‑high‑volume production environments.
- Understanding of material types, thicknesses, and grain direction.
- Experience with ERP or production tracking systems.
- Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as required in a manufacturing environment.
- Manual dexterity and ability to safely handle sheet metal.
- Physical fitness classification: GB02.

Hourly rate for California: $21.61 - $29.18 USD.
