Maintenance Worker I – Downtown Main Street District

The Maintenance Worker I performs entry-level, unskilled manual labor requiring moderate to heavy physical exertion in the routine maintenance of a variety of indoor and outdoor municipal assets, including municipal-owned buildings, grounds, streets, parks, playground equipment, and parking lots, with a strong emphasis on the Downtown Main Street area and pedestrian mall to ensure cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance. The employee receives assignments orally or in writing and performs work under the direction and supervision of the Public Service Superintendents or a higher-level supervisor.

Work involves the use of manual tools, small power tools, and both heavy and light equipment, and may include prolonged exposure to adverse weather conditions as well as availability for emergency call-back outside normal working hours.
