We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Construction team based in Waterbeach, Cambridge. The role is based in Waterbeach, Cambridge and will split your working week between the office and home.
As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a vital role in developing profitable tenders that contribute to our growing pipeline of work. You'll be joining a collaborative team where your expertise in cost estimation, risk assessment, and tender preparation will help us continue to deliver exceptional projects across education, health, defence, and other key sectors. This is an opportunity to lead and inspire others whilst working on meaningful projects that make a real difference to communities.
Responsibilities- Estimating project costs and preparing tenders, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to minimise risk and maximise value
- Collaborating with design, planning, commercial and bid management teams throughout the tender process
- Building strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and suppliers
- Supporting the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams
- You have experience working within a Main Contractor or Tier 1 Contractor environment
- You’re proficient in Excel, estimating software, and take‑off tools such as Blue Beam
- You have demonstrable leadership experience within a pre‑construction team
- You’ve supported and developed junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise
- You have a conscientious approach with excellent attention to detail and knowledge of benchmarking and cost planning
