Position: Education Assistant 2 - Specialized Student Care
Location: Omineca and Yellowhead (Smithers)

Take on the role of Education Assistant 2 and play a crucial part in supporting students with exceptional needs in your community. This position emphasizes direct assistance in educational and behavioral activities under teacher direction.

Reporting to the Principal, the Education Assistant 2 will engage with small groups and individual students, providing tailored support related to their education plans. Key responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, reinforcing independence, and facilitating communication strategies. Monitoring student behavior and safety is paramount to creating a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor students during breaks and lunch periods

• Support personal hygiene and skill-building activities

• Record and report observations to teachers

• Help conduct educational field trips and activities

• Assist with medication administration when needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma with six college-level courses

• At least one year of relevant experience

• Knowledge of specific behavioral techniques

• Valid driver's license preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
