Position: Chetwynd Secondary Counsellor/Teacher Role
Location: Northern British Columbia (Fort Nelson)

Use your skills as a Counsellor/Teacher at Chetwynd Secondary School, helping students succeed academically and socially. This role combines teaching Career Life Connections with counselling services for individual growth.

Commencing September 1, 2026, the successful applicant must hold or pursue a Master’s in Counselling. The position entails active collaboration with both students and parents, guiding their educational and emotional wellness. Engaging with the Learning Services Team to promote health and career initiatives is vital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide students through course selections and career choices

• Develop and adapt individual learning plans for diverse needs

• Regularly consult with parents on academic progress

• Collaborate with the school-based Learning Services Team

• Foster health and career awareness within the school

Requirements:

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate

• Documentation of successful K-12 training or practicum

• Legally permitted to work in Canada

• Strong classroom management and assessment skills

• Experience working with diverse behaviors
