Position: Special Education Instructional Assistant Role
Location: Stockton

Join San Joaquin County Office of Education in Stockton, CA, as a Special Education Instructional Assistant. Assist in the education of students with a variety of special needs and enhance their learning experiences.

This position involves guiding students aged 1.5 to 22 years in diverse environments, focusing on individuals with severe disabilities and emotional challenges. You will provide instructional support to certificated staff while fostering an inclusive atmosphere in classrooms and vocational settings. Collaboration with teachers, parents, and staff will be essential to your role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Aid in the instruction and support of at-risk students

• Facilitate training experiences within the community and academic settings

• Assist students with communication and behavior challenges

• Adhere to established policies and procedures while performing duties

• Interact with various educational stakeholders positively

Requirements:

• Equivalent to twelfth-grade completion

• AA or BA Degree or 48 semester units required

• Basic proficiency test completion, if necessary

• Proficient in reading, writing, and math skills

• Preferably prior instructional experience
