Location: Drayton
The Minto-Mapleton Family Health Team (MMFHT) is seeking a permanent full-time Registered Practical Nurse to join our collaborative primary care team at the Mapleton Health Centre (MHC) in Drayton.
This position will support both the Minto-Mapleton Family Health Team Nurse Practitioners and the Mapleton Health Centre physicians located at the Drayton site. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing RPN team, nurse practitioners, physicians, allied health professionals, and administrative staff to support high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Although this role is based at Mapleton Health Centre and will work alongside the MHC clinical team, the successful candidate will be an employee of the Minto-Mapleton Family Health Team.
Key Responsibilities
Support nurse practitioners and physicians with patient care, procedures, and clinic flow
Deliver high quality primary health care to patients within the RPN scope of practice. Including but not limited to:
Patient assessments, triage, immunizations, injections, blood draws, wound care, vital signs monitoring, suture/staple removal, ear syringing, and other clinical tasks as assigned.
Provide patient screening, health education, and follow‑up as needed
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team
Maintain confidentiality and manage personal health information in accordance with PHIPA
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Current satisfactory criminal and vulnerable sector check
Strong patient assessment, triage, communication, and organizational skills
Team‑oriented with a willingness to learn
Comfortable using technology and EMR systems (Telus PS Suite experience considered an asset)
Understanding of confidentiality and professionalism, especially in a small‑community setting
Experience in primary care is considered an asset
Reliable transportation
