Become a vital part of the Timmins Native Friendship Centre as a Career Advisor, focusing on Indigenous youth employment. Utilize your skills in advocacy, support, and cultural competency to drive success.

As an Apatisiwin Employment Counsellor at TNFC, you will contribute to improving the quality of life for urban Indigenous peoples in Timmins.

Your role emphasizes collaboration and accountability while helping direct-service users overcome barriers to employment. By assessing their needs and guiding them through action plans, you will ensure their professional development and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate career counseling and education for users

• Create and manage partnerships for greater employment prospects

• Assist with job placement and career transitions

• Provide support for job retention and workplace adaptation

Requirements:

• Relevant post-secondary education in social services or Indigenous studies

• Minimum three years in a mental health or social service role

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultural practices and impacts

• Ability to provide clear background checks and references

• Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle
