Overnight Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its growing team in the Canton, MA area for our Roofing business.

The Maintenance Electrician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types of machinery within buildings whether mechanical, electrical, or PLC controlled. The shift will be M, T, W and Thu 6pm to 6am, and the role plays a key part in performing preventive maintenance.

Salary Range: $45-48 with a 20% shift differential based on education, experience and qualifications of the applicant.

• Must have experience in running EMT, Rigid conduit, threading and bending EMT from 1/2" to 2" (kicks, saddles, 90’s, offsets, etc.).
• Must have experience with repair, installs, replacement, and testing of electrical circuits and equipment. Extensive understanding of electrical networking and control systems is required.
• Diagnosing malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment such as Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, and Megohmmeter.
• Responsible for troubleshooting PLC Controlled Equipment. Knowledge of AC Motor Controls, DC Motors and Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Controls from wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
• Work independently and professionally, completing work in a timely fashion while being thorough enough to complete work orders and maintenance log books.
• Perform all duties while maintaining high quality with an emphasis on Environmental, Health and Safety.

• High School Degree.
• Must be a licensed journeyman electrician in the state of Massachusetts.
• 5 years industrial or manufacturing related work experience.
• Understanding of PLC controlled production lines.
