Job Summary

We are searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our dynamic team in the drywall sector. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of drywall installation projects, ensuring efficient management from cost estimation to daily operations, ultimately delivering outstanding work on schedule. The ideal candidate will blend technical proficiency, exceptional organizational skills, and strong leadership to successfully manage multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities Project Management
  • Direct all phases of commercial drywall projects, including strategic planning, resource scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
  • Supervise project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project specifications and requirements.
  • Track project progress, modifying schedules and resources as necessary to overcome challenges and maintain timelines.
  • Enforce safety protocols and uphold quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster teamwork and support project staff, addressing any operational conflicts or challenges that arise.
Estimating
  • Analyze project blueprints and specifications to produce precise cost estimates for drywall projects.
  • Conduct take-offs to quantify material, labor, and equipment costs required.
  • Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and recommend cost-saving options or design alterations to stay within budget.
  • Monitor changes in project scope, timelines, and costs, providing updates and change orders as needed.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the principal contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and solid relationships throughout the project.
  • Deliver regular updates on project status, including progress reports, costs, and scheduling changes.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and financial records.
  • Ensure all project paperwork is accurate, complete, and processed promptly.
  • Compile final project reports, including a post-project analysis and key takeaways.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Estimator within the commercial drywall or construction industry.
    • Strong knowledge of drywall installation, processes, materials, and industry practices.
    • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale commercial projects from inception to completion.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient estimating skills with experience in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff).
    • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
    • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
    • Understanding of construction safety standards and building codes.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or LEED certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to visit job sites occasionally, which may involve standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions and job site environments.
