The Role
As a Safety Representative II at United Utility, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well‑being of our team members and the communities we serve. Your expertise will directly impact our business by upholding the highest safety standards, fostering a culture of safety awareness, and helping us maintain our industry‑leading position.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and oversee safety programs and policies on construction sites.
- Conduct field audits, coach crews, respond to incidents, support onboarding, and act as liaison with operations.
- Provide safety training to employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, analyzing root causes and recommending preventative measures.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety into all aspects of construction.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in Transmission and Distribution power safety or 7+ years of T & D industry experience.
- Solid understanding of JSA processes, energized work practices, switching, grounding, and OSHA/EEI standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in using safety management software.
- A commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST)
- Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
