Job Summary

The Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving Assistant provides administrative and engagement support to the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. This role helps foster meaningful relationships between the university and its constituents, while also assisting with donor stewardship and fundraising efforts. The position offers hands‑on experience in alumni relations, philanthropy, and event coordination.

Learning Opportunities

  • Develop foundational administrative and customer service skills
  • Learn about donor stewardship, identification, solicitation, acknowledgement, and engagement strategies
Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to alumni, donors, and campus stakeholders
  • Assist department staff with clerical duties such as filing, copying, answering phones, scheduling, scanning, shredding, placing orders, and maintaining office organization
  • Support donor stewardship efforts through phone calls, emails and mailing
  • Assist with social media content creation, direct mail campaigns, and email/text donor outreach
  • Perform data entry and maintain donor records Required Skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • High degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential material
    • Ability to multitask and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Forms
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Must be enrolled as an ONU student
    • Good academic standing
