Schedule

Shift starts on average between 1 pm and 3 pm, with an average of 12 hour days. Overtime pay is available after 40 hours and off‑day bonuses may be earned. The position is local delivery with a home daily schedule and a 4‑day work week.

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time, in good condition, and serve as the face of the company, building lasting relationships with customers.

The Driver, Hourly CDL‑A is responsible for driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive‑and‑drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food‑related products in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. They function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip, inspections of tractor/truck and trailer) according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report any safety issues or repairs needed.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Immediately report all safety hazards and ensure trailer is properly loaded and secured.
  • Perform a count check of items and verify customer invoices; complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach the pre‑loaded trailer as needed.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule; unload products and transport them into designated customer storage areas.
  • Conduct damage‑control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor regarding removal of orders per company policy; verify delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures; collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure the trailer doors; ensure all equipment, trailer, and freight are locked and secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring them to the driver check‑in and complete necessary paperwork; unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter the log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required; at the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 6 + months delivery driver experience.
  • Valid CDL‑A.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card and/or secure new DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to hand‑lift and utilize a two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds and up to 60–90 pounds.
