Salary: Grade 6 SCP 19-25 (£32,061 - £36,363) Pro Rata
Hours: Part Time 21 hours shared over 3 days as determined by school need
Start Date: September 1st 2026
ResponsibilitiesThe role is part of a job share alongside a teacher within our 80‑place Nursery provision (40 morning places/40 afternoon places). The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and delivering high‑quality Early Years provision within Progression Step 1, aligned with the Curriculum for Wales. Teaching and learning must be firmly rooted in purposeful play‑based learning, with equal value placed on indoor and outdoor environments.
Expected to work effectively as part of a team to meet the needs of all learners, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and learners identified as More Able and Talented (MAT). The ability to use, or willingness to develop skills in, alternative communication methods such as Makaton would be advantageous.
A strong commitment to the school’s nurturing, inclusive and community‑focused ethos is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team and in close partnership with parents and carers, ensuring positive relationships that support children’s learning, wellbeing and development. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are required, alongside initiative, adaptability and a flexible approach to supporting young children.
