JOB SUMMARY

Manufacturing Plant Management is accountable for all processes/teams associated with manufacturing, engineering, and production across the plant including:
Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Production Operations, Manufacturing Repair & Maintenance Operations, Manufacturing Production Planning & Control, Quality, Environmental and Employee Health & Safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Individuals in these roles primarily focus on directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others, and mobilizing resources.
  • Leaders typically manage two or more direct reports.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and achievement of operational and/or financial results for their area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for people management actions such as hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees.
  • Progression within the levels reflects increase in scope and responsibilities as well as growth in business and industry experience, process and people leadership capabilities, and broad technical expertise.
  • Manages subordinate management and/or experienced specialist employees who exercise significant latitude and independence.
  • Often heads one or more departments.
  • Allocates resources to align with business objectives and annual business plans.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles in own discipline and knowledge of other disciplines.
  • Solves complex problems leveraging resources within or outside the organization.
  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Applies knowledge of key business drivers and factors that maximize performance to area of responsibility.
  • Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect departments and subordinate sections and work units.

  • Develops and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

  • Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may cause critical delays and modifications to projects or operations and substantial expenditure of resources.
  • Interacts frequently with internal and external leadership and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications.
  • Leads briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
SAFE QUALITY FOOD RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; 3+ years of plant leadership experience in a similar environment in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years leading a manufacturing plant with full site accountability
  • Ability to manage end-to-end plant operations (production, maintenance, quality, EHS)
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated P&L ownership, budgeting experience, and a track record of improving financial and operational performance
  • Experience leading and developing cross-functional leadership teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment; union experience preferred
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments or related industries
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
