Assist in the preparation and management of Pre‑K classroom activities and administrative requirements under the supervision of a certified teacher.
Qualifications Education / Certification- Associate’s Degree or minimum of 48 college credits
- Paraprofessional Certification for Educational Aide or eligibility for certification
- Ability to work well with children
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Previous successful experience working with children
- Perform routine clerical duties.
- Assist the Pre‑K teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Assist with the administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
- Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly Pre‑K classroom.
- Assist in the use, care, and maintenance of audio‑visual and other equipment.
- Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
- Help the Pre‑K teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the Pre‑K teacher.
- Assist in supervising Pre‑K students throughout the school day, both inside and outside of the school.
- Perform cafeteria duty, bus duty, and playground duty as necessary.
- Assist in maintaining the personal hygiene of students.
- Assist in lifting and positioning students as directed by the teacher.
- Perform or assist with self‑help skills for students such as toileting, feeding, dressing and diaper changes.
- Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
