• Leads the affiliate’s operations on a daily basis, giving input into all aspects of the business including Finance and HR management
• Is accountable for the affiliate’s overall financial and non-financial performance
• Leads the development and update of the affiliate’s yearly strategic plan and budget, presenting them to the COO
• Executes the strategies approved by the CEO and Board of Directors
• Advocates the group's vision and mission internally and externally
• Provides the required leadership and instills the group's values and culture throughout the affiliate
• Coordinates with the Corporate Center, either directly or through the COO as applicable, to ensure that best practices and the group culture are transferred to all departments
• Ensures that the required support from the Corporate Center is provided to the affiliate
• Ensures full coordination between the different departments within the affiliate, and between each department and its mother function at the Corporate Center
• Ensures full compliance by the affiliate with regulatory requirements in all markets in which it operates
• Scouts opportunities of expansion within the country of operation or opportunities for expansion into new markets (as applicable) in coordination with the assigned Business Development Manager
• Oversees the affiliates’ major initiatives (e.g. large acquisitions, restructuring, transformation program, and as needed, major decisions on operational matters)
• Oversees all external communication activities, protects the group's image, and enhances its brand equity
• Identifies and tracks operational KPIs for all lines of business and devises plans and initiatives for operational improvements
• Develops the affiliate management team and oversees the performance of all his/her direct reports
• Reports to the COO on the affiliate’s performance
• Advises the COO on strategy and other initiatives
• Maintains and develops high-level customer relations and acts as the company representative in the external environment (government, financial institutions, media, key customers, etc.)
• Requests regular support and information primarily from all Department Heads on the performance of their respective departments
• Liaises with Corporate Center Heads of Department to ensure that sufficient support is provided to the affiliate
• Issues company-wide communication on strategic decisions and other corporate-level policies
Position Requirements
Bachelor,   10 to 15 Years work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance; MBA preferred
• Extensive commercial experience in the FMCG industry
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a senior executive (General Manager, Country Manager, Area Manager...)
• Relevant experience in North Africa
• Solid working knowledge of budgeting, business development, sales and marketing, human resources, and strategic planning
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, organization, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated dynamism and leadership qualities with forward-looking abilities and anticipation of market and industry opportunities
• Strong track record of past performance in positions of leadership with the ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external stakeholders
• Fluent in Arabic, French, and English
