Are you a Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist looking for an exciting role, working alongside the military, which offers numerous benefits and opportunities? The vacant post is part time working 20 hours per week:
Weds 08:15-16:30, 1 hour lunch;
Thurs 08:15-16:30, 1 hour lunch;
Fri 07:45-13:15. There is flexibility in days/hours but cover is needed on Thursday afternoons until 16:30.

Main duties of the job

To ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal (MSK)/sports and training injury areas.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • To perform highly skilled physio therapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
  • To formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
  • To communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g. English as their second language.
  • To advise Medical Officers with regard to specialist physiotherapy recommendations.
  • To manage and prioritise own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
