Spanish Adjunct Faculty; Part-Time

Job Description

Virginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for a part‑time Spanish Adjunct Faculty in the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (LASS).

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Must possess a Master’s degree (in any field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Spanish courses.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
• Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

• Teaching experience at the college level.

The selected candidate’s offer is contingent upon the successful completion of an extensive criminal background investigation, which may include fingerprint checks, local agency checks, employment verification, verification of education, credit checks (relevant to employment), and other checks requested by the VCCS such as I‑9 and E‑Verify requirements.
