Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Responsibilities- Lead and direct all day‑to‑day activities of the maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
- Monitor equipment performance to verify preventive maintenance programs are adequate, properly executed, and completed according to schedule.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance parts and supplies; source, requisition, and order repair parts and materials as needed.
- Assist maintenance technicians with interpreting specifications, blueprints and work orders and oversee all troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures.
- Coordinate and support contract maintenance and installation work performed by outside vendors.
- Maintain all business‑critical records, documents and blueprints for maintenance assets as well as all associated documentation relating to all production equipment.
- Promote and sustain a maintenance culture focused on continuous improvement, employee engagement, positive morale, and high levels of internal customer service.
- Supervise the activities of the maintenance department employees to assure that each is properly instructed in the performance of their work and the quantity and quality of work.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- Mechanical & electrical background preferred.
- Machine shop experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, industrial electricity and mechanical control systems.
- Able to read, interpret, and act upon blueprints, schematics, and printed instructions.
- Strong organization, leadership, communication (written and verbal) and planning skills, plus root cause analysis capability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
- General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
- Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
- Works closely with operations staff and interacts with all levels of company employees.
- Serves as a point of contact for outside contacts as appropriate.
