Shop Maintenance Supervisor

• Lead and direct all day‑to‑day activities of the maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
• Monitor equipment performance to verify preventive maintenance programs are adequate, properly executed, and completed according to schedule.
• Monitor inventory of maintenance parts and supplies; source, requisition, and order repair parts and materials as needed.
• Assist maintenance technicians with interpreting specifications, blueprints and work orders and oversee all troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures.
• Coordinate and support contract maintenance and installation work performed by outside vendors.
• Maintain all business‑critical records, documents and blueprints for maintenance assets as well as all associated documentation relating to all production equipment.
• Promote and sustain a maintenance culture focused on continuous improvement, employee engagement, positive morale, and high levels of internal customer service.
• Supervise the activities of the maintenance department employees to assure that each is properly instructed in the performance of their work and the quantity and quality of work.

• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Mechanical & electrical background preferred.
• Machine shop experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, industrial electricity and mechanical control systems.
• Able to read, interpret, and act upon blueprints, schematics, and printed instructions.
• Strong organization, leadership, communication (written and verbal) and planning skills, plus root cause analysis capability.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
• Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
• Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
• General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

• Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
• Works closely with operations staff and interacts with all levels of company employees.
• Serves as a point of contact for outside contacts as appropriate.
