Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the tax and regulatory functions within the life and annuity processing teams.

Responsibilities
  • Research complex transactions related to daily monitoring of policyholder processing.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of processes and systems used for administration of tax regulations related to annuities and gather data from multiple administrative support systems.
  • Interpret, troubleshoot, and answer business unit questions related to product taxation and reporting.
  • Lead the team in problem resolutions arising from production system problems or customer escalations.
  • Interpret tax law changes and identify courses of action for affected departments regarding taxation of annuities and life products.
  • Maintain and support records for functions not system‑supported pertaining to tax law (e.g., aggregation, cost basis manual updates, foreign reporting, withholding).
  • Serve as lead for product enhancement initiatives impacting information reporting and withholding, ensuring comprehensive testing, validation, and compliant implementations.
  • Support management by implementing and monitoring individual and team objectives/goals while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback and documentation on team performance, production and quality to meet or exceed departmental objectives.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to team members to ensure correct handling and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience with annuities, insurance, or financial services.
  • Associates degree or equivalent education/experience (preferred).
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate effective decision‑making skills.
  • Self‑motivated with strong analytical, customer‑service, number‑recognition, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In‑depth understanding of fixed and variable annuity concepts.
Working Conditions

Hybrid (In‑office Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays).

Salary

The salary for this position generally ranges between $63,000 and $80,000 annually. The starting pay is determined by qualifications, experience, geography, work location, and operational needs.
