Position Summary: Under general supervision, coordinates all on-road break downs; maintains all documentation and follows through to see that payments are made for the work that was done.

• Primary attendant of the breakdown line. Manages drivers concerns related to the breakdown or repair of both tractors and trailers that are on the road. (Not at terminals) Work with our maintenance team and operations team to find the best solution for repair while balancing drivers needs and costs.
• Contacts repair locations and arranges appointments as needed for equipment repair. When needed Driver Assistance Coordinator will issue payment for repairs completed. Continuous communication throughout repairs at outside vendors is required.
• Will be responsible for the set up of new vendors with the approval of the Maintenance Director.
• Follow up daily on equipment under repair. Update the open equipment spreadsheet with adjustments to the timelines on repairs.
• Trouble shoot operational issues as time permits. Assist as a conduit between driver and driver managers, planners, and customer service team.
• Continues workload from other shifts as needed to complete repair orders and other tasks in a timely manner. Maintains a clean and neat work area.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Necessary

Qualifications:

Post high school education or training in the area of maintenance preferred; one year experience in the field of shop maintenance and/or inventory control required; computer experience preferred; customer service and telephone skills required. General understanding of vehicle components and mechanical aptitude.

Physical

Qualifications:

Ability to sit, talk on the phone and enter data into computer system for long periods of time; and ability to lift up to 50lbs.
