Rotating shift featuring 8‑hour evenings/nights; every other weekend evening rotation.
Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned patients. Registered nurses provide nursing services to assure resident safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being of each resident, as determined by resident assessment and the implementation of a plan of care.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of nursing care, implementing interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
- Execute scheduled regimen prescribed by physicians within nursing practice guidelines.
- Perform and/or supervise activities that require registered nurse knowledge and skill; seek assistance when tasks are beyond scope.
- Provide leadership and direction in supervision of others in nursing care processes.
- Provide direct care to residents, including feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation, supply room management, and toileting assistance.
- Communicate changes in residents’ condition to appropriate members of the health care team.
- Follow universal precautions for infection control.
- Correctly use mechanical devices for moving, lifting, and transferring residents to promote safety.
- Current RN license in the State of Iowa.
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
- Dependent Adult Mandatory reporter training completed within 30 days of hire and recertified every 5 years.
- Obtains education required for license renewal.
- Works to promote a positive atmosphere in LTC.
- Provides direct care to residents (feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation, supply room tasks, passing water and linens, etc.).
- Communicates changes in residents’ condition to appropriate members of the health care team.
- Follows universal precautions for infection control.
- Correctly uses mechanical devices for moving, lifting, and transferring residents to promote safety.
