Overview
We are seeking a versatile engineer with a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems to ensure the highest standards of building performance. You will be an on-site technical authority on shift, ensuring all building services operate with maximum efficiency, safety, and reliability at this flagship property. This role offers the opportunity to apply broad technical expertise within a dynamic and high-profile environment.
Responsibilities- Operational Excellence:
Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive tasks efficiently, ensuring all work is logged in the CAFM system. Perform daily plant tours, identify defects, and manage repairs to maintain peak performance. - Safety & Compliance:
Issue permits as part of the Safe System of Work and act as the Duty Authorised Person (Pressure) as required. Ensure all statutory inspections are completed and recorded accurately, adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies. - Technical Ownership:
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of building systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS) and electrical monitoring; HVAC systems (AHUs, VAV, CRAC units, cooling towers);
Life Safety Systems (fire alarms, VESDA, sprinklers, wet risers); and Power systems (HV/LV switch gear, generators, UPS systems, emergency lighting). - Multi-Skilled Expertise:
Demonstrate proven capability to manage both mechanical and electrical building systems. - Qualifications:
A formal qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., C&G, HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering). Completed a recognized engineering apprenticeship or substantial experience in a similar Building Services role. - Desirable
Experience:
Experience acting as an Authorised Person (AP), particularly for Pressure Systems. - Technical Proficiency:
Strong competency with Building Management Systems (BMS) from an end-user perspective; excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues, clients, and residents; proactive, reliable, solution-oriented mindset; ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with report writing.
