Head of Software Engineering

(C# / Java | Middle / Back Office – Private Credit / Bonds)

We’re retained by a leading financial technology firm operating at the heart of the investment lifecycle, supporting complex asset classes across global markets.

This role suits a senior engineering leader who understands middle and back-office systems and has built platforms supporting private credit, bonds, or fixed income products.

• Lead engineering teams building core middle/back-office platforms
• Own architecture and delivery of systems covering data, workflows, and controls
• Drive platform scalability, resilience, and regulatory readiness
• Collaborate closely with Product, Ops, and client-facing teams
• Develop engineering leaders and embed strong delivery discipline

• Senior leadership experience in C# or Java engineering environments
• Strong domain knowledge across middle/back office investment systems
• Exposure to private credit, fixed income, bonds, or similar asset classes
• Experience building data-heavy, workflow-driven, highly regulated platforms
• Able to bridge technical execution with business and client requirements

• High-impact leadership role in a specialist financial domain
• Long-term platform build rather than short-term delivery
• Strong engineering culture with real investment in quality
• Competitive senior-level package and influence at board level
• Up to £170,000 basic depending on experience.
