This is a hybrid role based in London. You must live within commuting distance of our office at The Walkie Talkie (20 Fenchurch St) and be willing to come in weekly, though the specific days will depend on client needs. This role involves about 30% travel.

You must live in the UK for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Account Executives to meet sales goals across large Financial Services & Insurance accounts in the UK and Ireland.
  • Manage all technical aspects of a sales cycle, from initial meetings to final presentations.
  • Work with the AE to complete comprehensive discovery and fully understand the client’s business needs.
  • Write and organize technical responses for RFPs and formal proposals.
  • Build and present proof‑of‑concept applications that solve specific customer problems.
  • Explain technical details and business benefits to executives and stakeholders.
  • Represent Appian at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
  • Build long‑term relationships with technical staff at target accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to get the resources or information needed to close a deal.
  • Handle technical objections, answer detailed product questions, and ensure potential customers understand exactly how our software fits into their business and provides value.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience:

    10+ years as a Solutions Consultant or Sales Engineer for enterprise software.
  • Technical Background:
    Previous hands‑on technical work, such as experience as a Software Engineer or Technical Consultant.
  • Sales Partnership:
    View yourself as a partner to the sales team, taking equal responsibility for account planning and meeting revenue targets.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Ability to answer deep functional questions and comfortable discussing production environments, APIs, application servers, and databases.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Experience working with large Financial Services & Insurance organisations.
