As an Information Technology Intern at Norm Reeves, you will be a vital member of our esteemed  Team whose goal is to “Wow!” our customers. Located in Cerritos, CA, our centralized IT Department delivers outstanding services to a rapidly expanding network of high-performing, privately held retail automotive dealerships throughout Southern California, Texas, and Florida.

This internship provides you with extensive experience across various IT functions, including remote support and the deployment and maintenance of company-owned devices at all our locations. This opportunity is designed to help you jumpstart your career and enhance your technical expertise. You will benefit from mentorship and hands‑on experience provided by seasoned professionals across all key areas of information technology.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide technical support to employees and stakeholders via phone, in‑person, and text‑based channels.
  • Learn and apply IT best practices across hardware, software, networking, and security.
  • Assist in reducing overall support ticket volume within our ITIL‑based ticketing system.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Service Desk Manager.
  • Participate in employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup, device preparation, and access management.
  • Help maintain and update IT documentation to support consistent service delivery.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Install, label, inspect, and maintain technology equipment and tech areas across all dealership locations as directed by IT management.
  • Support device deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the IT department on projects and initiatives that support company‑wide technology goals.
  • Become familiar with technologies used in the automotive industry and how they support dealership operations.
  • Learn how the  Team leverages AI‑driven tools and workflows to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a national, matrixed organization.
  • Participate in tech team planning efforts on a company‑wide basis.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with co‑workers and vendors.
What You’ll Need
  • Currently enrolled as a college junior or senior, studying IT or a similar relevant field.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong technology literacy, especially with Microsoft applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI tools and automation platforms, and a willingness to learn how they support IT operations.
