Job Overview
The Field Operations Specialist supports customer site assessments, fall protection scope development, and project documentation. This role works closely with Sales, Engineering, and customers to gather accurate field information needed to develop OSHA‑compliant fall protection solutions.
The Field Operations Specialist is often one of the first Safety Rail Company representatives to meet customers on site. Professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and strong documentation skills are critical to success in this role.
This position requires travel to customer facilities throughout the United States. Site visits may include rooftops, industrial facilities, warehouses, manufacturing plants, food production facilities, construction sites, and other active work environments. The Field Operations Specialist will collect measurements, photos, site notes, drawings, and customer information to support Engineering, Sales, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct customer site visits and hazard assessments to support fall protection project development.
- Gather accurate field measurements, photos, site conditions, and project documentation.
- Support Sales by helping define project scope, identify customer needs, and document opportunities.
- Provide Engineering with clear and complete information needed to develop fall protection plans.
- Review drawings, sketches, site layouts, and customer‑provided documents.
- Create field layouts and documentation that can be translated into CAD models and fall protection plans.
- Collaborate with Engineering to review project conditions and recommend appropriate fall protection solutions.
- Perform QA reviews of engineered CAD models for field accuracy and scope alignment.
- Review proposed layouts with customers and communicate requested revisions or approvals.
- Maintain clear communication with customers, Sales, Engineering, and internal teams.
- Assist with remote project scoping using aerial imagery, construction documents, photos, and digital measurement tools when applicable.
- Become proficient in company field documentation and verification systems used to organize project data, site photos, measurements, and customer information.
- Independently plan and book travel as needed.
- Work independently with limited supervision while managing schedules, travel, and deliverables.
- Communicate technical information clearly with customers, Sales, Engineering, and internal teams.
- Follow projects from initial site visit through final handoff.
- Use software including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam or similar PDF tools, and internal business systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Travel may be up to 50%, typically a few times per month. Most travel occurs during the work week, with weekends generally avoided when possible.

- Ability to accurately use measuring tools.
- Confidence working in customer‑facing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, plans, or site layouts.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to assess site conditions in real time.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- 2+ years of college‑level education or relevant field experience in construction, industrial safety, engineering support, project coordination, or a related field.
- Experience reading blueprints, as‑built, roof plans, or construction documents.
- Experience reviewing aerial imagery, PDFs, roof plans, or construction documents using tools such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA fall protection standards.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, CAD review, or technical documentation.
- Exposure to laser scanning, reality capture, digital twins, or construction technology platforms is a plus.
