Position Overview
Perform mapping of aerial, underground and apartments in accordance with safety regulations, Mediacom policies and procedures, good workmanship; utility, federal, state and local codes.

• Perform strand mapping for new build areas.
• Perform walk out of apartment complexes and MDU’s.
• Knowledgeable in general CATV construction practices and able to direct contractors and or in house on work to be performed.
• Able to read system prints and understand the operation of CATV.
• Perform field engineering of road projects and force relocates.
• Participate in meetings with developers and state projects.
• Produce reports as required on the operation of the plant facility.
• Function in various weather conditions within safety constraints.
• Provide input to supervisor on projects.
• Perform quality control inspections, and construction on a regular basis to assure quality and recommend additional training as needed.
• Knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Perform all other duties assigned.
• Some overnight travel may be required.
• Perform installations and changes of service, while adhering to: applicable codes, requirements, guidelines, company procedures and safe work practices in order to provide an outstanding customer experience.

• High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; satisfactory driving record required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Broadband Specialist IV system technician or 4+ years’ equivalent cable technician experience.
• Understanding of SCTE – Cable Technology
• Coax Splicer Specialist SCTE certification
• Knowledge of HFC plant, installs and service calls.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
• Knowledge of construction tools and equipment including; bucket trucks, lasher, blocks, pulling grips, stand/cable trailers, cable layers, hoists, bolt cutters, lay-up sticks and hand lines.
