Position: Foreign Trade Zone Admin.

Job Description

A distribution center in Charleston is in need of an FTZ Administrator. The FTZ is responsible for the administrative operations of the company’s multiple FTZ accounts, ensuring all documents prepared and submitted to Customs are in compliance. In addition to the Foreign Trade Zone activity, they will work with the company’s shipping/receiving representatives to ensure import/export shipments are being delivered on-time.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance of all FTZ operations and processes
  • Assist in troubleshooting inventory discrepancies, and report as necessary
  • Audit daily admission forms (214) prepared by FTZ administrators
  • Oversee completion and submission of required FTZ entry forms (3461, 7501 and 7512)
  • Research and analyze any discrepancies discovered during daily operation
  • Manage relationship with zone personnel to ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Maintain and update FTZ Manual as required
  • Work with Customs during on site audits and provide reports and information as needed
  • Retain import and Customs documents in compliance with federal regulations
  • Validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of information
  • Assist in preparation and submission of annual reports to U.S. Customs and the FTZ Board
  • Submit reports of quarterly Harbor Maintenance fee to customers
  • Provide guidance on FTZ matters and develop process and systems for continued compliance
  • Communicate with Customs Brokers to ensure compliance
  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience:

  • US Customs Broker License preferred
  • FTZ, Customs brokerage, logistics or inventory experience
  • Experience with Integration Point software
  • Well rounded WMS/ERP proficiency, SAP preferred
  • Tier-1 Automotive Logistics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must work well independently and in a team environment
