The Staffing Consultant position is located on the Central Campus.  The successful candidate for this position will undertake a variety of tasks such as administrative, advertising, recruiting, onboarding, and orientation. This position will develop and implement staffing recommendations and solutions according to College guidelines and employment laws to ensure compliance. The work hours are Monday-Friday with an anticipated start date of June 1, 2021.

Overview of Department:

This position is located in the Human Resources Department in Talent Acquisition. The Talent Acquisition department is responsible for the recruitment and staffing for all faculty and staff positons here at Central Piedmont.

General Function:

The Staffing Consultant undertake a variety of tasks such as administrative, advertising, recruiting, onboarding, and orientation. This position will develop and implement staffing recommendations and solutions according to College guidelines and employment laws to ensure compliance.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of human resource functions pertaining to recruitment and selection.
Consult with hiring manager to assist in analyzing and planning staffing needs and changes.
Coordinate with hiring manager regarding position approval, advertising, and posting; recommend and approve interview questions.
Support the business diversity goals, thru consulting with hiring manager on unit data and posting opportunities.
Manage candidate information in Applicant Tracking System.
Screen employment applications to determine eligibility for positions; facilitates movement of employment applications through all phases of the strategic selection and high touch hiring processes.
Assist hiring manager with the selection and approval of candidate(s) to be considered for an interview; conduct and complete reference checks for recommended candidate(s).
Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, terms of employments and issuance of salary recommendation approved by the Compensation Team.
Extend offer to candidates once the committee decision has been made, approval obtained and compensation approved.
Serve on Interview committee for Director Level positions and above.
Ensure a positive, smooth onboarding process for newly full-time and part-time hired employees.
Assist employees with questions relating to a broad spectrum of Human Resources; recruitment, hiring and selection issues and interpret policy.
Support and facilitate the resolution of employee relations issues by providing referrals to Executive Director of Employee Relations and/or HR Leadership Team, when appropriate.
Prepare, coordinate and participate in various training sessions, workshops and classes it relates to hiring and selection processes in partnership with Talent Development.
Assist external partners with hiring such as the Charlotte Fire Department, and assist hiring with Seasonal Theater positions when needed.
Maintain effective working relationship with all levels of staff and the public; foster and promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
Serve as back-up to other team members to maintain office workflow, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics

Knowledge of fundamental principles and practices of HR Recruitment and Staffing.
Knowledge of applicable state, federal and local laws and regulations pertaining to HR Administration
Knowledge of statistical concepts and methods, survey techniques and analysis
Ability to work with a diverse population
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills

Position Requirements
Bachelor, 1 to 2 Years work experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Personnel Administration, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or a related field and two to four years of human resources or personnel experience. Professional certifications such as PHR or SPHR are an acceptable substitute for the Bachelor’s degree
Required Language Skills:
  • English - Very good
