Candidates may indicate their preferred focus (buyout or venture) or remain generalist in the application process.
The Investment Associate will support and help shape the private investment program by evaluating new opportunities, monitoring existing manager relationships, and developing insights that support long-term, risk-adjusted performance. The position works closely with members of the Investment Team, particularly the Private Team.
Key investment evaluation responsibilities include conducting investment diligence by building diligence plans, conducting in-depth analysis, and coordinating team workflows; supporting execution and structuring of investments in partnership with senior stakeholders; and developing clear investment views and producing recommendations for decision-making.
Portfolio monitoring responsibilities include reviewing reports, attending meetings, and providing periodic updates to investment underwriting; maintaining and enhancing portfolio monitoring tools including cash-flow models; and identifying material changes at the manager or fund level and recommending follow-up diligence as needed.
Additional responsibilities include organizing diligence workflows and documentation across the Investment Team, providing timely follow-up on action items, and assisting in refining tools, templates, and processes using AI-enabled solutions. The position is based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
