Maintenance Automation Technician IV – Chaska, MN site.

Job Description

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Maintenance Automation Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks and assignments including the maintenance and repair of production equipment and facility infrastructure. The focus will be on equipment uptime and reliability, preventative maintenance, safety, troubleshooting, controls and automation equipment, and process improvements.

Hours:

6 AM – 4 PM, Sunday to Wednesday.

Responsibilities
  • Repairs, replaces and tests electrical circuits on equipment, isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments, and replaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Mounts motors and completes circuits per diagram specifications.
  • Stays current with all codes and attends Entegris training.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and inspects completed work for conformance with job specifications and safety requirements.
  • Serves as a primary resource for controls and automation maintenance issues.
  • Utilizes the computerized work order system, entering information and completing all required documentation thoroughly and timely.
  • Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product quality.
  • Follows standard Engineering and Technology practices and procedures, participates in Entegris’ continual quality improvement process and dedication to customer satisfaction.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area, wears required PPE and performs duties in a safe manner while observing approved safety procedures.
  • Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor and identifies and corrects potential unsafe conditions.
  • Inspects pneumatic and electrical connections and lines for robot PMs; performs inspection of in‑house built equipment and associated PMs.
  • Replaces components and adjusts sensors when required.
  • Adjusts production floor robot program points and troubleshoots robot functional issues.
  • Troubleshoots and adjusts in‑house built and vendor custom built equipment issues pertaining to sensors, motor drives, vision systems, PLC and HMI issues.
  • Handles network communication to and from equipment, troubleshooting and repairing issues.
  • Supports tooling setup after mold tear down for service or cleaning by adjusting core servo homing adjustment.
  • Adds new variant part numbers to automated equipment.
  • Updates test inspection programs for new variant parts and/or test spec updates to current equipment.
  • Updates data output info to Cam Line for data collection of current equipment.
  • Performs preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Connects production floor robots to RJG for bad part quarantine.
  • Clears all robots and automated equipment for safe re‑start after a power outage or shutdown.
  • Works with and supports robotics, electrical (AC/DC), hydraulics, pneumatic, servo motors, sensors, HMI interfaces and complex mechanical equipment.
  • Provides support for PLC, HMI, servo and stepper drives, Fanuc, Sepro and Star Robots and vision systems.
Qualifications
  • Two‑year technical degree in controls, automation, robotics, electrical, mechanical – or equivalent experience and training in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works or other CAD, Word, Excel.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude and creative problem solving.
  • Hands‑on electrical experience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Self‑motivation and self‑direction.
  • Ability to work occasionally on weekends and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work occasionally on call.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to train and support co‑workers.
