Chester Race Company Ltd is one of the North West’s best-known and most-admired brands. It is an evolving organisation with a broad portfolio but retaining Horse racing at its core. The Company operates three racecourses, Chester, Bangor-on-Dee and Musselburgh, in Scotland. At Chester, we also own and operate a hotel, a vibrant pub and have other property interests in the city. Not to mention our in-house caterers, Horseradish and our staffing brand – Thyme People.
With that much diversity in our business, no two days are the same.
- Support the event delivery of race days, concerts, and major events across the venue
- Assist with event set‑up, site build, and preparation, including equipment, signage, and temporary structures
- Support de‑rig and post‑event breakdown, ensuring sites are left safe and ready for the next event
- Act as a key on‑site link between the event team, contractors, suppliers, and production crews
- Help manage event and back‑of‑house areas to ensure smooth operations
- Carry out a range of hands‑on tasks, adapting to the changing needs of live events
- Support guest experience, crowd flow, and overall event presentation as required
- Work safely, professionally, and in line with operational guidance
- Represent Chester Race Company positively on site
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking team players
- Flexible, proactive attitude with a willingness to support where needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable with physical work and fast‑paced environments
- Calm, adaptable, and able to respond to change
- Interest in events, live entertainment, sport, or hospitality
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and peak event periods
- Previous event experience is desirable
- This role requires you to be over the age of 18
£14.03 per hour to increase to £14.60 from April 1st (inclusive of holiday pay)
