Short List Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Python Developer to join a market-leading tech firm based near Chester.
An established tech-led business is expanding its production-scale AI voice assistant platform and is looking for a Junior Python Developer to support the enhancement and growth of the system. You’ll gain exposure to real-time voice processing, agent logic and integrations that power thousands of interactions daily, working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Support the development and maintenance of core components of a Python-based AI agent platform
- Contribute to voice processing, agent orchestration and API integrations
- Assist in improving performance, reliability and scalability
- Work alongside senior engineers on AI/LLM-driven features
- Follow secure development and data governance best practices
- Strong foundation in Python (commercial experience or academic projects)
- Understanding of REST APIs and basic integration principles
- Familiarity with Git and version control
- Knowledge of software development fundamentals and best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Exposure to Docker or containerised applications
- Experience with databases such as MongoDB
- Interest in AI, LLMs or prompt design
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with personal projects, internships or university coursework in Python
The Junior Python Developer role would suit a recent graduate or early-career developer looking to build their career within a fast-growing, AI-focused environment.
The role is based near Chester and offers hybrid working. It is commutable from Liverpool, Crewe, Wirral, Runcorn, Warrington and North Wales. The salary is up to £35,000 plus a great benefits package.
