Position: OCSE Student Assistant - Content Creator (Admission Communications)

About the Role

The New School is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, creative individual to join our Admission Communications team as a Content Creator. This hybrid position requires on-campus content creation, weekly in-person office time, mandatory staff meetings, and event coverage. The role is integral to Admission Communications and Welcome Center work, supporting the success of Enrollment Management’s mission.

Responsibilities
  • Meet all content deadlines and attend content team meetings.
  • Represent Admission Communications at in-person and online events.
  • Check in daily with Content Managers and Welcome Center administrators on Slack.
  • Be comfortable in front of a camera; create dynamic, authentic, multi-media content for Instagram, Zee Mee, Campus

    ESP, and other platforms.
  • Learn and understand audiences and platforms, including prospective students, applicants, parents/families.
  • Engage audiences, answer questions about student life and admission processes, and provide support.
  • Collaborate with professional staff and student team members.
  • Contribute to a friendly, fun working environment and be a positive, dependable resource.
  • Commit to working 5–8 hours per week and manage time efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at The New School.
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for social networking sites, social media tools, and associated apps.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong video editing skills; desire to learn and troubleshoot challenges.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and aesthetics.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication.
  • Highly organized; self-motivated; enjoys assisting others and providing support.
  • Ability to focus without distraction from cell phones and competing responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Zee Mee, Campus

    ESP, Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides.
  • Extensive experience with Canva video, photo, and design capabilities.
Hours & Compensation

Hourly Rate: $17 per hour.

Work Mode: Hybrid / Split – employees are expected to be on campus 1‑4 times per week and may also work remotely.
