Role Overview
Gensler Technical Designer – responsible for driving the design and delivery of workplace interior projects, combining creativity with technical expertise to produce functional, beautiful spaces for clients.
Responsibilities- Participate in the creative efforts of multiple interior architecture and interior design teams for workplace (office) projects from the initial marketing stages through construction administration.
- Contribute to overall design concepts, storytelling, and design presentation strategies in collaboration with a team.
- Select and present furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and decorative lighting.
- Support the generation of concepts for finish plans, RCP, lighting plans, specifications, material selections, and millwork for the project.
- Act as a fearless integrator and advocate for diverse points of view and expansive thinking.
- Understand and support Gensler’s resilience goals.
- Build and maintain client relationships; interface with clients, team members, and a wide range of consultants and collaborators, both internal and external.
- Creatively align solutions to budgets.
- Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
- 6-10 years of diverse interiors experience with an emphasis on workplace interiors.
- Knowledge of the design process, from schematic design through construction administration.
- Experience contributing during all phases of the design process.
- LEED, Fitwell, or WELL accreditation is preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong proficiency with Revit is required; understanding of Sketch Up, InDesign, Enscape, Photoshop, and Miro.
- Submit a portfolio of relevant work samples in PDF format along with your resume.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $73,000 - 85,000k, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation is contingent on location and relevant skills, qualifications and experience.
