About the Department

Since its founding in 1893, the Department of Psychology has been renowned for scientific research and scholarship that cuts across traditional disciplinary boundaries. Today, this broad and integrative vision of psychological science is reflected in the diversity of laboratories and collaborations within the Department, as well as research initiatives that connect psychology to other areas of the University and beyond. The PhD program encourages students to take advantage of the many research opportunities at the University, emphasizing intellectual breadth as well as training in specific areas. Job Summary

The Development of Social Cognition Lab ( led by Professor Katherine Kinzler) and the Developmental Investigations of Behavior & Strategy (DIBS) Laboratory (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). led by Professor Alex Shaw) are hiring a Lab Manager to manage their developmental psychology research programs, including their virtual kids' testing lab, Social Kids Lab Online. Research topics focus on the development of social cognition and moral reasoning in childhood.

The job provides technical support activities related to scientific research projects, ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates, and assists in drafting presentations on research findings.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple parts of the research projects, including supporting a diverse group of graduate students, postdoctoral and undergraduate researchers.
  • Prepare stimuli and experimental designs.
  • Coordinate with family, museum, and school partners.
  • Perform editorial and copy‑editing functions as needed.
  • Assist with installation, set‑up and performance of experiments; interact with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
  • Manage and extend an online database for testing participants.
  • Handle outreach, communication, and public‑facing aspects of the lab’s work to parents, educators, and broader audiences.
  • Manage grant activities and aid in developing grant proposals.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for research projects.
  • Collect and enter data, assist in data analysis, and help prepare reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in a related field (not typically requiring a four‑year degree).

Preferred Qualifications
  • BA in Psychology or a related field.
  • Relevant research experience.
Compensation and Hours

Hourly: $21.79 – $28.20. Weekly hours: 37.5.
