Skills Needed: QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree desirable with a focus in Human Resources or related area. Background in social service setting, volunteer or other not-for-profit agency preferred. Knowledge of Child Welfare systems a plus. Minimum of two years’ expertise gained through increasingly responsible administrative positions in human resources preferred. Knowledge and experience with ADP is preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws. Familiarity with human resources theory and practices in a not-for-profit environment desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and superior interpersonal abilities. Excellent word processing and filing skills and proficiency in MS Office. Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills. Ability to work in a courteous and professional manner with DCFS, courts, and other social service systems. Ability to pass DCFS required criminal background check including CANTS/SACWIS and SORS. Ability to provide required DCFS Medical/TB test. Ability to work flexible hours and travel to various SOS locations on occasion. Ability to work in an alcohol, tobacco, and drug-free environment. |
