Job Description
  • The line cook will run their station and be able to work all line positions
  • Must be able to follow instructions and willing to learn new skills (e.g. how to properly make dosas)
  • Strong attention to detail when measuring ingredients and cooking
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
  • Maintain food preparation areas in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
  • Clean and organize walk-in refrigerator and freezer, reach-in refrigerator, and dry storage area
  • Wash dishes
  • Must wash hands regularly, according to guidelines
  • Be able to perform more than one task at a time
  • Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment.
  • Be able to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules
  • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers and guests
  • Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant attitude every shift
  • Accept direction and constructive criticism from management
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (occasionally 50 pounds)

The restaurant will celebrate the Dosa, a South Indian delicacy made from a sourdough rice and lentil batter, spread thinly on a griddle, and cooked to a perfect golden crisp.
