Overview of the Position
This full-time position located in the Clerk’s Office of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois, in Chicago, Illinois. The Systems Administrator coordinates and oversees Bankruptcy Court’s information technology networks and systems. The incumbent performs both routine and complex network administration and systems duties, including developing standards, recommending network and/or systems infrastructure changes, and coordinating and implementing network security measures.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for high-level and long-term design and analysis of the Bankruptcy Court’s network systems. In addition, the incumbent also assists with supporting and maintaining the court’s virtual server, desktop, and mobile device environments. Secondary responsibilities include day-to-day administration of various court software applications, as well as assisting in securing the judiciary’s information technology network by developing standards, recommending network infrastructure changes, and participating in the high-level and long-term design and analysis of the courts’ network systems as it relates to IT security.
