Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM.
Title:
Maintenance Technician Level 3. The technician will engage in independent root cause diagnosis, troubleshoot, and repair production and ancillary equipment. The technician will also perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance, assist with installation of large equipment and perform installation of smaller equipment and electrical system repairs. The technician will also perform ancillary facility maintenance, as necessary, excluding janitorial or similar light maintenance functions.
Duties
- Engage in independent root cause diagnosis, troubleshoot and repair production and ancillary equipment.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on production and ancillary equipment, including assist with major mechanical and major electrical maintenance repairs.
- Engage in independent root cause diagnosis, troubleshoot, and replace various motors and motor bearings.
- Engage in root cause diagnosis and troubleshoot pneumatic circuits and pneumatic controls.
- Engage in root cause diagnosis, troubleshoot and rebuild various types of pumps.
- Engage in root cause diagnosis, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, solenoids, cylinders and valves.
- Engage in root cause diagnosis, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems by consulting wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Perform preventative maintenance of production and ancillary equipment.
- Adjust functional devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, gauges, plumb bobs and straightedges, in order to set the OEM equipment, including calibration and timing.
- Fabricate, modify and adjust parts through use of shop equipment.
- Determine parts necessary to complete repairs on machinery and requisitions for OEM.
- Perform major electrical construction for production machinery (e.g., wire sizing, in accordance with municipal and state codes).
- Perform ancillary facility maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Coordinate and work with equipment manufacturers and vendors responsible for the machines when necessary.
- Perform assigned tasks and work orders as needed, instructed or scheduled.
- Perform assigned tasks and work orders in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
- Lubricate machine components, equipment and parts as necessary, per work orders or machine maintenance manual.
- Maintain a good and timely dialogue with Plant management, operators and other technicians regarding any work, repair or maintenance performed on equipment or the facility.
- Use the maintenance computer program (e-maintenance) to interface work orders, part requests and PM systems.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting actions, irregularities, and needs in the maintenance computer program (e-maintenance).
- Reduce equipment downtime by informing production staff of routine preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate maintenance down time with management and scheduling when applicable, and training other maintenance technicians.
- Use maintenance resources efficiently.
- Use tools and equipment safely when performing duties.
- Attend monthly safety training meetings as instructed by Plant management and maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, including lock out tag out.
- Perform other duties and jobs that may be assigned to them as required by the Company.
- Follow all Company work rules, policies, regulations and guidelines, including but not limited to all applicable safety, quality and production standards.
