Job DescriptionLooking for a Welder/Fabricator of structural steel components for the construction industry as their primary duties. This includes, but is not limited to, structural steel columns, beams, handrail, stair rail, door frames, and numerous other components required by the steel construction industry. There is potential to expand into custom fabrication and welding repairs, depending on the skill set of the individual.
No personal equipment is required. All necessary welding machines, hoods, and PPE are provided. Primarily, MIG welding processes are used to fabricate all the required components, but other machines are available depending on the fabricator's skill set. Opportunities to learn how to operate a wide range of fabrication machinery and equipment are readily available. Forklift, Overhead crane, press brake, plate shear, bandsaw, and ironworker training will become a part of the everyday job at a minimum.

Job QualificationsMust be able to demonstrate proficiency in MIG welding. Our processes include both .035 hard wire and 1/16" flux-cored dual shield. Must be able to accurately read a tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch. Must be willing to learn to read blueprints and shop drawings. Experience with fabrication equipment (i.e., press brakes, shears, grinders, bandsaws) is a plus but not required.
Willing to employ and provide on-the-job training to an individual with the willingness and capacity to learn.
Starting hourly rate $23/hr. with no previous employment in the field. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience level. Medical insurance is provided. BCBSIL. Dental and Vision are available.
