Position
Armed Security Officer
Pay Rate & ScheduleStarts at $17.50/hour, increases to $22.00/hour once armed. All shifts Monday–Sunday. Full or Part Time.
Requirements- Must have PERC, FOID, & 20 Hour Security Certificate.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Previous experience in security, military or law enforcement preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office programs (preferred but not required).
- Demonstrate commitment to service and professionalism.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, diplomacy when dealing with any person.
- Initiative and sound judgement in evaluating and reacting to situations.
- Ability to multitask under pressure, high attention to detail, prioritize.
- Work with minimum supervision, read/comprehend detailed instructions, process information accurately.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises.
- Document security activity with Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports.
- Control vehicle and personnel access per established procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations per established procedures.
- Operate specialized equipment such as CCTV, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
- Prevent losses and damages by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Enforce Sizemore’s and client’s policies and procedures.
- Other tasks as required.
- Perform work in climate‑controlled building and/or outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting.
- May encounter threatening situations or blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
All tattoos must not be visible under the prescribed uniform. Tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed. All facial piercings must be removed while on duty. Facial hair must be clean‑shaven (except for a mustache), hair clean, neatly trimmed, and natural color.
