Railserve is hiring a dependable and organized Clerk in Cincinnati to support daily rail switching operations within an industrial rail environment. This is a full-time administrative support role responsible for assisting site operations through clerical, reporting, scheduling, and communication tasks that help keep daily operations running efficiently.

Job Description The Clerk is responsible for performing clerical and administrative duties that support daily rail switching and operational activities at the site. This role assists with reporting, communication, scheduling, filing, and administrative coordination to help ensure operational efficiency and customer support.

This is a predominantly office-based position that works closely with operations personnel, customers, and site leadership while supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the rail operation. Responsibilities include preparing reports, handling correspondence, maintaining schedules, answering phones, and assisting with operational documentation.

While most responsibilities are office-based, the position will occasionally require field activity such as walking track to verify railcar numbers and support operational accuracy within the rail yard.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Previous clerical or administrative experience in industrial, logistics, transportation, or operational environments is preferred.

Schedule
11:00 AM – 7:00 PM shift5 days per week

Some weekend work may be required based on operational needs

Compensation $21.50 – $22.50 per hour based on experience

Duties

Compile data and prepare reports and business correspondence

Open, sort, route, and respond to incoming and outgoing mail Communicate with customers, employees, and operations personnel regarding daily activities and operational information

Answer telephones and assist with administrative support tasks

Maintain records, files, reports, and operational documentation

Complete work schedules, manage calendars, and coordinate appointments

Operate office equipment and perform data entry tasks

Walk rail track as needed to verify railcar numbers and support operational accuracy

Support day-to-day operational and clerical activities at the site Maintain compliance with company safety procedures and policies

Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Job Requirements High school diploma or GED required1–2 years of clerical or administrative experience preferred

Industrial, logistics, or transportation environment experience preferred

Strong communication and organizational skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team Reliable transportation required

Ability to work in an industrial environment as needed

Ability to walk rail track and work outdoors…
