Job Purpose: The End User Device Program Manager will be responsible for desktop delivery projects for Security, Network and End User Devices. The Project Manager will work with IT Directors and third-party vendors on delivery projects to maintain 9,000 computers across 900 locations in North America. The Project Manager will be asked to manage several concurrent small to mid-sized projects (weeks to six months in duration). The project manager will drive product delivery, tasks and issue resolution with internal matrixed resources as well as third party supplier resources. The Project Manager will hold recurring strategy meetings with all major stakeholders to develop and maintain development roadmaps.
Manage 4-6 concurrent small and medium sized IT Services projects.
Partner with IT Directors and supplier project manager(s) and project resources to managing project plan, deliverables and issue resolution.
Work independently to draft project plan, project deliverables and resource requirements.
Work independently to drive execution of project tasks with escalation when required.
Coordinate and lead weekly project status update meetings with core team members and IT Services Leadership Team.
Coordinate and lead daily stand up meetings during roll out period.
Provide timely and accurate status and metric reporting.
Proactively manage and resolve project issues, risks and conflict.
Present project status updates to Steering Committee / C-level if required
Manage project tasks utilizing Microsoft Project
Manage deployment lists utilizing Microsoft Excel
Coordinates activities between business units and third-party suppliers to create and review services provided
Develop long-term project roadmaps
Provides oversight to third party suppliers
Drives task management within First Group
Manages projects within agreed to quality tolerances for schedule, cost and quality
Creates and reviews third party status reporting for accuracy and completeness
Reviews and manages project financial plans
Coordinate and facilitate status meetings
Create project exception reporting and change control requests as required
Experience & Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science or management information systems or equivalent experience
2-3 years of successful project management related experience
Project Management certification a plus with Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner certification highly desired
Experience leading IT development or IT technology projects (typically 2+ years)
Experience within in a weak-matrixed organization with the ability to establish relationships at all levels of an organization
Experience coordinating activities with third party suppliers
Proficient with Microsoft Project
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Understanding of project management methodologies and best practices (Prince2, PMBOK, ITIL, SDLC, Agile, etc)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Background and experience in transportation industry is highly desired
