Position: Machinist II (Swiss Machinery) 2nd or 3rd Shifts

The Machinist Technician II performs machine operation and assembly in a job shop or high‑volume applications, processing components to meet print and geometrical tolerance requirements. The role supports the manufacturing engineering function and maintains proper documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, complete tasks as directed by SOPs, routers, prints, work instructions, and manufacturing schedules.
  • Operate machining equipment under close supervision, learning machining and metal‑removal concepts such as milling, turning, grinding, and other methods.
  • Observe machine operation and verify conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Adhere to dimensions and tolerances found on prints; use prints and sketches to determine proper methods and processes.
  • Maintain machine maintenance files and perform maintenance and emergency rework or modification of production parts as directed.
  • Perform in‑process checks; report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department lead or supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Work on projects as part of a team, exchanging ideas and contributing skills complementary to other team members.
  • Perform assembly, deburring, and other duties as required.
  • Set up manual machines and perform tool offset changes on CNC machines; perform basic machine set‑up.
  • Select and care for special machine tools such as drills, jigs, mills, lathes, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose basic machine problems using proper diagnostic tools.
  • Learn maintenance of CNC program files and manage machine maintenance files.
  • Modify basic existing processes when necessary.
  • Inspect prototypes, machine prototype fixtures, and first‑article components.
  • May perform programming and operation of FOBA lasers.
  • Communicate verbally, in writing, and interpersonally to work with others; train others as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 2–5 years of related experience; trade‑school certification preferred where applicable.
  • Full knowledge of machinist role and substantial familiarity with machining routine parts.
  • Experience with machining and metal‑removal equipment, including milling, turning, grinding, and measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to utilize a desktop computer with typical business programs.
  • Understanding of CNC program maintenance and basic CAD/CAM usage.
Salary & Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $22.79 – $30.77 USD. Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, equity, or other variable compensation.
