Job Overview

A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Chelsie Brewer. The scholar will conduct basic and translational pain research focusing on the downstream effects of inflammation and injury on pain-transmitting circuits, with particular attention to knee osteoarthritis. The work involves electrophysiology, calcium imaging, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, neural circuit tracing, and behavioral analysis with mouse models and human tissues.

Functions
  • Design and conduct experiments.
  • Analyze data and communicate results through meetings, conferences, and manuscripts.
  • Collaborate with laboratory members and colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in the field and share relevant findings with the research team.
  • May contribute to training and/or supervision of colleagues.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data in compliance with University of Cincinnati policies and procedures.
Required Education

MD, PhD, or MD/PhD in neuroscience or a related field (e.g., Bioinformatics, genetics).

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Experience with rodent models and culture systems.
  • Skills in bioinformatics approaches.
  • Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.
Physical Requirements /Work Environment

Office environment; no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
