Job OverviewThe laboratory of Dr. Guo-Chang Fan in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurobiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is looking for a motivated Research Assistant to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects on macrophage-mediated efferocytosis in cardiovascular disease, maintaining lab animal colonies, and make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
- May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data
- May assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry
- Apply research principles for less complex assignments
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or Neuroscience or a related field
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
At least one year of lab experience including cell culture, confocal microscopy, macrophages, RNA preparation for genotyping, RT-PCR, Western blotting, and data analysis using R and Python.
