Sales Clerk Leader – Full Time (30–40 hours per week).
Location:
Clearwater Exchange, Clearwater, FL. Salary: $16.80 hourly.
Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection. Provide outstanding customer service and address customer concerns promptly.
Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the sales department, including ordering merchandise, receiving, pricing, and monitoring stock levels. Coordinate pricing changes, markdowns, promotional sets, and signage in conjunction with store management. Communicate with headquarters regarding special order requests and merchandise issues.
Assist management in training employees on cash register and front‑end duties, provide input on employee evaluations, and operate the cash register accepting cash, checks, and credit cards. Prepare, verify, issue change funds, collect receipts, compare register tapes with Daily Activity Report, investigate discrepancies, and maintain cash overage/shortage records. Control and secure change fund, safe, and cash registers.
Serve as key carrier for opening and closing the store as required. Direct and supervise other employees, and be responsible for overall store operations in the absence of management. Follow loss‑prevention policies, stay aware of shrink, maintain alert line, and adhere to safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.

Qualifications- Minimum:
- Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Preferred:
- Experience operating a cash register and working knowledge of sales inventory.
- Previous retail supervisory experience covering the duties described.
- Current U.S. Coast Guard Community Services Command sales clerk with at least 6 months experience.
- Must have availability to open, close, and work weekends.
